Supporting Inclusion and Growth in Albania

January, 2025
In Albania, there are many kids and young people who face challenges in life. Some may have disabilities, others may not have parents, or they might just be in difficult situations. But there are programs that help these kids and young people feel included, cared for, and supported. These programs are designed to give them a safe space to grow, learn new things, and make friends.

One of the special things that happens every year is a New Year’s Eve celebration. Even though we don’t always have all the details, these celebrations are created to bring everyone together. It’s a time for joy and for people to feel part of something bigger, especially those who might not always have a chance to enjoy the holiday season with others.

Another great event is a summer camp in Velipojë that has been going on for over 26 years. This camp is special because it gives children with different abilities the chance to enjoy the summer, make friends, and take part in activities they might not have access to otherwise. In 2024, the Mayor of Shkodër even visited the camp, showing how important this initiative is for the kids and the whole community.

There are also daily sports activities that help young people grow stronger, both physically and emotionally. These activities include therapy and fun programs that teach new skills, build confidence, and encourage friendships. It’s a place where young people can feel good about themselves and make positive connections with others.

These programs are more than just fun events—they make a real difference in the lives of kids and young people who need extra support. They help everyone feel included and give them the opportunity to grow, learn, and be happy.
