Strengthening Health and Wellbeing: Work Engagement Labs for Orphaned Adults with Disabilities in Need

The “Strengthening Health and Wellbeing” project has been ongoing since June and will continue until early December, supporting orphaned adults with disabilities in social inclusion, personal development, and preparation for engagement in practical work activities.

This project aims to create safe, sustainable, and inclusive spaces where participants can develop their skills, increase their mental and emotional well-being, and gain competencies that help them in their daily lives and community engagement.

Creative and practical labs are developed in the following areas:
• Pyrography
• Gardening
• Crafts
• Creative and occupational works

The activities are taking place at the “Antonio Bozza” Daily Activity Center, a dedicated environment that offers professional support and a warm atmosphere for growth and development.

Participation and results so far:
The project involves 49 people with disabilities from different homes-families. Of these, 25 participants who are in mini-labs according to their preferences and abilities have managed to acquire skills to engage in simple work processes, have developed better interaction skills and have experienced a significant improvement in their psychological well-being.

This progress reflects not only the value of the practical mini-labs, but also the positive impact of the emotional, social and community support provided during the project.

The main goals of the project remain:
1. Increasing motivation, self-confidence and self-esteem
2. Developing skills for community involvement and orientation towards employment
3. Promoting independence and preparing for a more active, sustainable and dignified life

Acknowledgements:
This project has been made possible thanks to the support of the Credins Foundation and the contribution of many well-wishers and partners who believed in our mission.

Together we are building bridges towards a more inclusive, fairer and more sensitive society to the needs of every individual.
